“Following my accident…
I was diagnosed with a full thickness rotator cuff tear. The first physician advised me that it would not cure, even if surgery were done.
When I subsequently began seeing Dr. Stein and receiving his injection treatments of prolotherapy, I was amazed at the effectiveness and speed by which I was cured of all rotator cuff pain. After 7 treaments I was virtually pain free.
Thanks to Dr. Stein for his medical expertise and thorough knowledge of prolotherapy, my injury is healing beyond my expectations! ”

What are the cost comparisons between these therapies and other treatments?
Prolotherapy treatments cost anywhere from $200 to about $700 per session depending upon how extensive these treatments have to be at those sessions. The average cost for a typical back therapy session would probably be in the vicinity of $500 per session at first, but later on as less injections are needed the cost would be reduced significantly.
When one compares the cost of these therapies, one has to consider the various optional treatments. To treat a lower back problem that is amenable to prolotherapy and/or neurotherapy, you are talking about ½ dozen treatment sessions which should be adequate to sufficiently relieve the problem if not cure it as compared to going through surgery which involves months of rehabilitation. The cost of rehabilitation plus the operation itself including hospitalization will run into the vicinity of $50,000 to $75,000 versus $3000 to $5000 for Prolotherapy or Neurotherapy.
What about safety and side effects of these treatments?
The injection medication that we use is perfectly safe as these are naturally occurring substances for the most part that are in the body and it is just the concentration that is different and the location in which they are put. None of the medications that we use or none of the substances that we use are toxic in any way whatsoever.
From a standpoint of complications, they are essentially non-existent. There is an extremely low to almost no incidence of infection or allergy to any of the products that we use, even in allergic individuals.
How do I know if I need or can benefit from Chelation, Prolo or Neural Therapy?
Prolotherapy is usable for most types of skeletal muscular pain and if you are suffering from this type of pain, the physician who is familiar with prolotherapy, will surely be able to determine if this treatment would be a wise choice for you. It is then your choice after receiving all the facts, if this treatment would be beneficial and if you wish to go through the most conservative type of treatment that has a safety record and a beneficial effect or whether you want to go through surgery. Most people do not want surgery.
As far as neurotherapy is concerned, this form of therapy deals with the pain release of a sympathetic nature. The sympathetic nervous system gets involved in pain in many instances and is often the place where pain is being stored in the body. By releasing the sympathetic nervous system, pain can often times be ameliorated, if not completely relieved. It also allows for the healing process to continue. Again, the physician familiar with prolotherapy is the best to judge whether these treatments can help and proper examination of the patient will divulge that information. Neurotherapy has virtually no down side risks.
With regards to chelation therapy, if somebody is suffering from any type of vascular disease, any condition that has an underlying vascular disease component, untreated hyperchloresterolemia, or is taking cholesterol medications, they would be benefited by the chelation program. Chelation cleans out the toxic metals and other toxic substances in the body and allows for the restoration of youthfulness, vitality and energy. If you suffer from any of the symptoms associated with those described in the chelation segment of this web site, then you are a potential candidate.
How will I be able to tell if these Therapies have helped me?
If your pain goes away and you feel better, the therapies have helped you. You are your best judge and if you are participating in the program and the physician is getting the appropriate locations treated, your pain should be disappearing and you should be feeling better.
Are these therapies considered to be legal treatments?
Yes they are completely legal treatments.
Do medical insurance companies pay for Chelation, Prolo or Neural Therapy?
Most insurance companies do not pay for chelation therapy. Some pay for injections into various parts of the body which comes under the category of prolotherapy and/or neurotherapy. Medicare does not pay for these services.
Do I have to give up my routine medical care?
No but if you are feeling better, you will be able to get rid of the pain medications, the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, some of the cardiac medications, cholesterol medications, and even the anti-depressants that you may be taking. If you are starting to feel better, you can get rid of most of the medications that you may currently be taking.
